JK Lakshmipat University Hosts BFSI & Service Sector Futures Forum on the Future of Skills, Technology and AI

Jaipur: JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU), an initiative by the 140-year-old JK Group, successfully hosted the BFSI & Service Sector Futures Forum at its campus under the theme, “Reimagining BFSI & Services: Skills, Technology and AI for the Future.” The forum brought together senior industry professionals, academicians, students and leaders to deliberate on the changing nature of careers, skills, technology and leadership in the BFSI and service sectors.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. Vijaysekhar Chellaboina, Vice-Chancellor, JK Lakshmipat University, said, “At JKLU, we believe that the future belongs to professionals who can combine strong fundamentals with technology, adaptability and purpose. Platforms like this forum enable our students to learn directly from industry and prepare themselves for a rapidly evolving world of work.”

The forum featured two engaging panel discussions.  Setting the context for the discussions and welcoming the distinguished panellists, Mr. Prem Singh, President, Group HR, JK Organisation, said, “The BFSI and service sectors are being reshaped at an unprecedented pace by technology, changing customer expectations and new ways of working. For young professionals, this transformation presents immense opportunities, but success will increasingly depend on their ability to continuously learn, adapt and combine domain expertise with digital fluency and human skills.”

“It is important for universities and industry to come together to create such meaningful platforms, where students can gain insights from leaders at the forefront of these changes and prepare themselves not just for the jobs of today, but for the possibilities of tomorrow,” he added.

The first panel discussion, “Building Successful Careers in Banking & FinTech: Opportunities, Challenges and the Road Ahead,” explored emerging career opportunities, evolving skill requirements and the growing impact of FinTech and digital transformation on the BFSI sector. The session featured Mr. Sanjib Subba, Founder, Kathmandu FinteK; Mr. Sachiin Sharma, Senior Vice President-II & National Manager, HR, AU Small Finance Bank; and Mr. Sanjay Thakur, Senior Vice President, HDFC Bank Ltd. The session was moderated by Dr. Riya Sureka, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Management, JKLU.

The second panel, “The Future of Work in Service Sector: Emerging Roles, New Skills and Leadership Expectations,” examined changing workplace expectations, new-age roles and the leadership capabilities required in a technology-driven economy. The panel included Mr. M Lakshmanan, Executive Vice President, Larsen & Toubro; Mr. Abhishek Kumar, Vice President, ICICI Bank Ltd.; and Ms. Shikha Rastogi, CHRO & Board Advisor, Bloom CE Technologies. The session was moderated by Dr. Anindya Ghosal, Associate Professor at Hari Shankar Singhania School of Business.

The programme also featured a presentation on Hari Shankar Singhania School of Business (HSB) by its Director, Dr. Archana Shukla.

The forum reaffirmed JKLU’s commitment to industry-academia collaboration and future-ready education, creating meaningful opportunities for students to engage with leading voices and understand the skills needed to thrive in the evolving world of BFSI and services.
