Mumbai: Vivekanand Education Society’s Institute of Technology (VESIT), Mumbai, successfully concluded its flagship 30-hour intercollegiate hackathon, HACK4INNOVATION 2026, emerging as a powerful platform for innovation and technical excellence. The event attracted top engineering talent from across Maharashtra, reinforcing its growing reputation as a hub for future-ready problem-solving.
Organized by the VESIT Renaissance Cell (VRC) in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mumbai, Ghatkopar West, and supported by the institute’s Innovation and Incubation Cell (IIC) and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the hackathon was held on March 27 and 28. It witnessed participation from 83 colleges across the state.
The response was overwhelming, with 1,489 registrations received. Over 400 participants advanced to the next stage, leading to the submission of 384 innovative solutions. Following a rigorous multi-stage evaluation process, 42 teams secured a spot in the finals, including 30 teams in the Software track and 12 in the Hardware track—highlighting the event’s scale and competitiveness.
Participants were tasked with developing real-world solutions within a limited timeframe, addressing critical domains such as cybersecurity, assistive technology, home healthcare, crowd prediction, sports analytics, and cultural education. The hackathon created a dynamic, high-pressure environment that encouraged collaboration, rapid prototyping, and interdisciplinary thinking.
The competition concluded with a Power Judging Round, where finalist teams presented their solutions before a panel of industry experts. With a total prize pool of ₹2,00,000, the event recognized projects that stood out for their technical innovation, practical relevance, and scalability.

The seamless execution of the hackathon was made possible through the collective efforts of student-led technical bodies such as IEEE, CSI, ISTE, ISA, and the Maker Bhavan Foundation Tinkerers’ Lab. Their coordination and leadership underscored the institute’s strong culture of student-driven innovation and organizational excellence.
HACK4INNOVATION 2026 stands as a testament to the evolving innovation ecosystem among young engineers and further strengthens VESIT’s role as a catalyst for technological advancement and industry-ready talent.
