Founded by designer Arpita, INTENT brings together plant-based bamboo fibres, climate-conscious design and minimalist silhouettes to create premium clothing designed for the body, India’s climate and modern everyday life.

NEW DELHI, INTENT, a new Indian premium natural performance lifestyle brand founded by designer Arpita, has officially launched its first collection in India, introducing a new approach to everyday apparel built around the relationship between the body, climate and the way people live.

The launch collection features T-shirts, oversized silhouettes, activewear and everyday essentials, designed to move seamlessly across work, travel, workouts, weekends and everyday routines.

At the core of INTENT is its Body Sense Fibre philosophy—an approach that explores how the natural characteristics of plant-based fibres can contribute to comfort and everyday performance. Rather than relying on heavily synthetic, visibly technical clothing, the brand brings together natural material choices with functional design to create apparel that feels relevant to modern Indian life.

Bamboo-based fabric forms an important part of INTENT’s material philosophy, selected for qualities such as its soft hand-feel, breathability and comfortable feel against the skin.

For founder Arpita, INTENT was born from a simple observation: people spend most of their lives in everyday clothes, yet those clothes are rarely designed around their bodies, their climate or the realities of their daily lives.

> “I wanted to create something beyond another clothing or sustainable fashion label. INTENT is about natural performance—bringing together thoughtful design, plant-based fibres and the natural abilities of those fibres to create clothing that feels relevant to real life. We live in our everyday clothes, and I believe they should do more than simply look good. They should feel good, move with us and keep pace with the way we actually live.”

Designed for India, not adapted for India, the brand responds to the changing conditions of everyday life from heat and humidity to commuting, air-conditioned spaces, movement and long days.

INTENT’s philosophy around conscious fashion also goes beyond seasonal sustainability messaging. The focus is on thoughtful material choices, functionality, durability and repeat wear, creating premium pieces that consumers can wear often and keep as part of their everyday wardrobe.

The brand also places importance on transparency, giving consumers greater clarity around details such as fabric composition, GSM and garment care.

With its launch, INTENT aims to build a distinct space at the intersection of premium everyday apparel, natural fibres and performance-led design, where clothing does not have to look technical to perform through everyday life.

“The future of everyday wear does not need to be louder or more complicated. It needs to be more intelligent, more comfortable and more intentional,” adds Arpita.

The INTENT launch collection is now available across its official website.
