New Delhi : MEWA India, the flagship event of the Nuts and Dry Fruits Council (India) NDFC(I), has been awarded Runner-Up in the Best Seminar Category at the Exhibition Excellence Awards 2026, marking a significant milestone for India’s nuts and dry fruits industry and reinforcing the event’s emergence as a leading platform for sector-wide dialogue, knowledge exchange, industry collaboration, and business networking.

The recognition comes at a highly competitive edition of the awards, which received more than 600 nominations across 35 categories. The award was conferred in recognition of the quality of engagement, industry-focused discussions, and expert-led seminars and panel sessions hosted during MEWA India.

The achievement assumes significance as it comes in only the third edition of MEWA India, underscoring the rapid rise of the platform within the exhibition and conference ecosystem and its growing influence as a thought leadership platform for India’s nuts and dry fruits industry. Over the past three editions, MEWA India has evolved into a key meeting point for stakeholders across the nuts and dry fruits value chain, bringing together traders, importers, exporters, processors, policymakers, industry experts, and global participants.

Industry stakeholders said the recognition reflects the increasing importance of structured dialogue, industry collaboration, and knowledge-sharing within the sector, particularly at a time when India’s nuts and dry fruits market is witnessing steady growth in consumption, product innovation, and international engagement.

The award also highlights the growing role of industry-led forums in facilitating discussions on trade, quality standards, supply chains, consumer trends, and market opportunities. Organisers noted that the recognition belongs not only to the event but to the wider ecosystem of members, partners, speakers, exhibitors, delegates, and stakeholders who have contributed to its success.

“This recognition is a proud moment for the entire NDFC(I) community. Receiving the Runner-Up award in the Best Seminar Category at the Exhibition Excellence Awards 2026 validates our efforts to create a meaningful platform for industry dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration. The fact that this honour comes in just the third edition of MEWA India makes it even more special,” said Gunjan Vijay Jain, President & Founder, NDFC(I).

The council said the award reflects the collective commitment of industry participants who have supported the event since its inception and helped establish it as a credible forum for addressing opportunities and challenges facing the sector.

“The award is not merely a recognition for MEWA India; it is a reflection of the growing strength, maturity, and collective voice of India’s nuts and dry fruits industry. We thank our members, partners, exhibitors, speakers, and delegates for their continued trust and support in making MEWA India a leading platform for industry engagement, collaboration, and knowledge exchange,” said Gunjan Vijay Jain, President & Founder, NDFC(I).

With participation growing each year and increasing engagement from domestic and international stakeholders, the recognition is expected to further strengthen MEWA India’s position as one of the industry’s most influential platforms for networking, collaboration, thought leadership, and business development.

The award also signals the rising prominence of India’s nuts and dry fruits sector, which continues to expand its footprint through stronger industry collaboration, greater consumer awareness, and enhanced global connectivity.
